Charles Hansel was born Oct. 26, 1955 to Charles E. and Mary Lou (Kuhse) Hansel. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader. Chuck graduated from Central Community High School, Elkader, and NEICC in Calmar. He was united in marriage to Marcia Adams on May 8, 1982 at Peace United Church of Christ. Two children were born to this union.1981. He presently was employed by Peoples Service, Inc. He had always been active in the community, formerly with the Elkader Boy Scouts, Isaac Walton League, 23 years on the Elkader Fire Dept. and had been with the Central Community Ambulance crew. He presently was a member of the Elkader City Council. Chuck enjoyed being with his children and following their school activities. He loved the outdoors, horses, his dog, camping, fishing, NASCAR, flying and had taken pilot's training and he was an avid storm watcher.and Nicholas, all of Elkader; his father, Charles E. (Babe) Hansel of Elkader; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Nellie Adams of Volga; two sisters, Lynn (Dennis) Schaefer of Elkader and Lori (Jim) Bunting of Edgewood, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
