Previously, he worked for Naval Avionics Center 25 years. He received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University and his master's degree from Cornell University. Memorial contributions may be made to the church of the Shrine Children's Hospital. Survivors - wife Velma C. Rohn Berchekas; son Basil Berchekas Jr.; daughter Peggy Stuart; sister Angie Berchekas; five grandchildren.Employee Relations and Services Division of the U.S. Naval Avionics Facility, that Basil was made to retire, due to the Civil Service Act, on Tuesday, January 31, 1967. He was 70 years old.
