He resided in Brookfield his entire life. During his life he enjoyed working with the Pershing Balloon Derby and his special friends, John and Jackie Petren and family. Doug was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Brookfield.Doug was survived by his mother, Gladys, of Brookfield, Missouri; four brothers and three sister-in-laws, Jerry and Peggie Stufflebean, Holt, Missouri, Kenneth and Mary Stufflebean, Marceline, Missouri, Russell Stufflebean and companion Shelia Dinsmore, Brookfield, Missouri, and Darryl and Ginny Stufflebean, Mike, Missouri; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Sharon and Bob Grimshaw, and Connie and Mike Wright, all of Brookfield, Missouri; seventeen nieces and nephews, Shelia and Justin Drescher, Shelley Riewski, Shane and Jennifer Stufflebean, all of Kansas City, Missouri, Ryan and Desirea Stufflebean, Travis and Amanda Stufflebean, all of Marceline, Missouri, Kimberly and Curt Richards, Milan, Missouri, Kristina and Richard Anderson, Ashland, Missouri, Jeremy and Helen Stufflebean, Rodney Stufflebean, all of Meridian, Mississippi, Patrik and Garet Stufflebean, Mike, Missouri, Kelsy and Matt Hustead, Germany, Karrie Grimshaw, Waco, Texas, Kristin Grimshaw; Brookfield, Missouri, Caleb Galloway and Jennifer Walgren, Marceline, Missouri, Kolter Galloway and Candice Robinson, Brookfield, Missouri, and Gerald and Julie Morris, Brookfield, Missouri; eighteen great nieces and nephews, Tara Brown, Blain Drescher, Lindsay and Dustin Witta, Leah Rose and Micheal Stufflebean, all of Kansas City, Missouri, Kinslie Stufflebean, Emry Stufflebean, both of Marceline, Missouri, Megan and Allie Richards, Milan, Missouri, Grant and Logan Anderson, Ashland, Missouri, Lauren Stufflebean, Meridian, Mississippi, and Haley and Brice Hustead, Germany, William Barnes, Waco, Texas, and Katelyn and Caden Galloway, Marceline, Missouri, and several cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Stufflebean, grandparents Alfred and Sarah Frazier, and Bill and Rosalee Stufflebean, and two aunts, Ethel Morris and Lula Bertie Sabinson.Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Brookfield, Missouri, with Reverand Bill Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri. Visitation was on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, Missouri. The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church and may be left at our mailed to Rhodes Funeral Home, 404 Linn St., Brookfield, Missouri 64628.
