Father of Gilchrist of Strathearn, William of Strathearn, Maud of Strathearn, Ethna of Strathearn, Robert of Strathearn, Mary of Strathearn and Cecily Strathearn. Son of Ferquhard of Strathearn and Ethen (Unknown). Brother of Malise de Strathearn and Christian of Strathearn.
sed a charter by King Malcolm to the monks of Scone at Stirling in 1164; and he was probably the Earl Gilbert named as justiciary about 1190. He founded the Abbey of Inchaffray in 1200; was one of the Seven Earls who took measures for the Coronation of King Alexander II at Scone, 6 December 1214; and attended the funeral of his father, William the Lion, at Arbroath, 4 days later.r of Sir Richard and Geoffrey of Gask.
