Father of Elizabetha Henckel and JACOBUS HENCKEL and Johannes Henckel and Johann Henckel and Philip\Philipp Henckel and Johann Henckel. Son of MATTHIAS HENCKEL.

Georg Henckel, of Allendorf-ad-Lumbda near Giessen, progenitor of our Henckel Family in America, was born in 1635 and died January 29, 1678 in Mehrenberg. He was the son of Matthias Henckel; we do not know the name of his mother.ed at Giessen University July 22, 1650 in the fourth class, at the age of 15 years. He became a teacher and was made preceptor of the school at Mehrenberg (near Weilberg) in 1662 where he remained until his death in 1678. He was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery at Mehrenberg. Herr Georg Henckel was a chaplain and was the preceptor or schoolmaster of Mehrenberg, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany from 1662-1678; he is listed as from Steinmerk. Perhaps he taught there after completing his university studies.al Years of Rev. Anthony Henckel, 1692-1717", p. 97, by Ann Hinkle Gable.
