Died, Buckingham Co, VA.

Father of William Steger and Samuel Steger and Thomas Steger and John Steger and David Steger and Andrew Steger and Frances Steger and Elizabeth Steger. Son of Samuel Steger and Agnes McLaurine. Brother of Robert Steger and Samuel Steger and Littlebury Steger and Charles Steger and Elizabeth Steger and Mary Steger and Benjamin Steger and Nancy Steger.

Known as William of Buckingham. Lived in Buckingham Co., VA, all his life. Reared on Deep Creek Plantation, inherited by his father from Francis George Steger. Located in James River watershed, adjacent to Summerset Plantation, the childhood home of Agnes McLaurine, his mother. Spent his life farming 400 acres inherited from his grandfather, Francis George, in the Piedmont region of what later became Buckingham Co. Saw service in War of 1812. Five of his sons migrated to Christian County, KY.
