The latter thereupon attacked Iagoand killed him after an obstinate battle in 1039. Gruffydd then placedhimself on the throne occupied at an earlier date by his father,Llewelyn ab Seissyllt. A brief rule of six years ended in his murder and replacementby Gruffudd ap Llywelyn ap Seisyll.
