Born, Rode, Frome, Somerset.
Married to Daughter Eve. Married to Elena Zouche. Father of Nicholas St. Maur. Son of Laurence St. Maur and Emma Bassingbourne.
He attended the Earl of Lancaster on his mission to France, 1294, and serv
ed in Gascony, 1296, for service due on lands in Cambs; in 1298 summoned f
or service against the SCOTS. In 13 11 he had licence to embattle his hou
se at Eaton Meysy {Wilts). Knight of the shire, Glooucestershire, in the P
arliament which met March 1312/3. In October 1313, as an adherent of the E
arl of Lancaster, he had a pardon for participation in the death of Gavast
on. He was summoned to Parliament 29 July 1314 to 16 October 1315, by wri
ts directed Nicholao de Sancto Mauro, whereby he is held to have become LO
