He was a 1941 graduate of Worsham's College of Mortuary Science in Chicago. He served his apprenticeship at Carlson's Funeral Home in Chicago. He then worked for Wilton Mortuary in Peoria until coming to Roseville in 1945.Memorial Home, until retiring in 1979. He also bought funeral homes in Avon and London Mills in 1957.serving as Past Master. He was a member of the Valley of Moline Consistory, Roseville Library Board, a 60-year and current member of Roseville Chamber of Commerce, and had served as past president. He was a member of the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery which he founded in 1949, serving as past president and current board member. He was a member of Roseville Order of the Eastern Star. He was member of the Steering Committee of the LaMoine Christian Nursing Home Board, serving 30 years from its beginning.Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He was a member of a team which was instrumental in securing federal housing, a doctor and reopening the pharmacy and senior resident housing in Roseville.overseeing his farmlands, traveling, sports and was an avid Chicago Bears and Illini fan.the Revs. Tim Randall, James Oliver and Tom Mehaffy officiating.
