ir of Philip d'Aubigné (who died s.p., in the Holy Land, 1236, and was bur
ied there) of South Petherton, Barrington, and Chillington, Somerset, some
time Warden of the Channel Islands, who gave him Petherton, of which he h
ad livery, having done homage, 7 December 1234. He was not yet a knigh
t, 15 August 1247. Was with the King in Gascony in 1253. In 1276 he quitcl
aimed to the King, for 100 marks, all his rights in the Honour of Monmout
h. He was on the King's service in Wales in 1277 and in 1282. He was summo
ned for Military Service, 14 March 1282/3 and to attend the King at Shrews
bury, 28 June 1283, by writs directed RRadulfo de Albiniaco.
